GPIO and UART of main processor connected to WiLink8

Postby harisafzal » Mon Aug 22, 2016 7:08 pm

Hello
Can you tell me which GPIO line of the main processor is connected to the BT_EN line of WiLink8.
Also, can you tell me if UART1 of the main processor is connected to WiLink8. If so, can you share devicetree with me which has UART1 setup for communicating with WiLink8.

Thanks

Hi,
it is gpio3_9. uart1 is connected to the wilink8 and is used for bluetooth
see the following .dts: https://github.com/varigit/kernel-VAR-S ... m-am33.dts

Thank you for answering my questions.
I actually wanted to check the value on GPIO3_9 when I bring down the bluetooth of wilink8 using hciconfig hci0 down. This GPIO appears to be owned by some other process (most probably a driver) so I wasn't able to export it.

Is there a place (a TP or a component) where I could probe the status of BT_EN using an oscilloscope. I am using VAR-SOM-AM33 (REV 2.1). VSM-AM33-F29-3

Thanks

Hi,
you can test BT_EN in pin #1 of Resistor network which is near the NAND (TSOP-48) in print side

Thank you. I was able to probe BT_EN successfully.
I have another similar request. Can you tell me if there is a way to access BT_UART_DBG. If there is a component that I can tap into and get access to this line, that would be awesome.

Thanks

Hi,
This pin is not connected so unfortunately you cannot probe it.
