Custom board doesn't boot fom SD-Card (another one) [SOLVED]

Postby NicolasM » Mon Dec 19, 2016 5:10 pm

Hello
When the module is plugged into the DVK it boots fine from the SD-Card but when I plug it into our own board and use the same SD-Card, U-Boot starts and then the system hangs.
The last line of the log file says "Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p2..." (see attached complete log)

It boots fine from eMMC and NAND.

Thanks
Nicolas

The problem was due to the card detect signal which is not connected to the same pin on our board and on the DVK. Funny it manages to start the bootloader from the SDCard and then hangs because it doesn't know if the SD is present...

Thanks
Nicolas

We had a similar issue. It turns out the card detect that is used at power-on is iomuxed in a certain configuration to a pad (so U-Boot is able to boot from SD), but the Linux DTB uses a different pin because the Linux driver that detects the SD card uses that different pin.
