Using LCD lines as GPIOs

Postby erwin » Mon Jan 05, 2015 8:38 am

Hi,
I'm in need of extra GPIO inputs in my design and would like to use the LCD lines for that purpose.
I've seen LCD_DATA2 is also used for SYSBOOT what about the rest of the lines are they available?
Thanks for your support,
Erwin

Hi Erwin,

These signals can be used as inputs, only if high-z at boot time, since those signals are latched at boot to configure the boot device.
LCD_DATA[15:0] terminals are respectively SYSBOOT[15:0] inputs, latched on the rising edge of the AM335x PWRONRSTn Reset Input Pin.
You can add a buffer which should be enabled only after system is running (at u-boot for example)

Best Regards,
Aviad
