serial gadget driver [ANSWERED]

Postby PeterSteinberg » Thu May 04, 2017 4:24 pm

How do I add the USB gadget serial port to my system similar to the existing PTP and MTP interfaces .

I see the serial port file in the kernal (drivers/usb/gadget/legacy) but I can't find a way to add it to the build.

Thanks,
Peter Steinberg

Hi Peter,
could you please elaborate your need?
You want to connect the device using the OTG or you need something different?
Please consider that by default, NXP provide only MPT interface via OTG.

Thanks

Correct.

We want to connect the Android device to a PC via USB and have the PC send commands / data to the Android device via the standard serial port interface, and for the application on the Android side to be able to process the transfers by opening a TTY device.

Similar to how under Linux we could use "/dev/ttyO#" or "/dev/ttyGS#".

I know the default is to only support PTP and MTP protocols but it looks like the other gadget drivers are there.

I just don't know how to configure / enable it for our applications can then use.
