Capacitive I2C Touchscreen

Postby schluecj » Mon Apr 24, 2017 2:37 pm

I am attempting to get a capacitive touchscreen working that is using the FT5x26 sensor with a yocto Jethro image. I have verified that that the config setting for the kernel is enabled (Device Drivers -> Input device support -> Touchscreens -> EDT FocalTech FT5x06 I2C Touchscreen support is set to yes. I have verified that the dts for the board contains the entry for the touchscreen as well as the correct interrupt pin mapping. I have also verified that changes to the config settings are appearing in the image I am using.

At the moment the touchscreen is not working. Currently when the system boots there are no messages in dmesg to indicate that it has loaded the corresponding driver or that there were any errors detected with that. This has lead me to a few questions.

1.) Which comes first, the message in the bootup log or the need to have the I2C communication working to the touchscreen?
2.) Are there other settings to enable the touchscreen that I am neglecting to setup?

Any pointers as to what I should look at next would be appreciated.

Are you sure the FT5x06 driver supports the FT5x26 chip?
