We're using a Variscite i.mx6 DART with WL1837MOD module, running a 4.1.15 kernel with the following software versions:
wlcore: wl18xx HW: 183x or 180x, PG 2.2 (ROM 0x11)
wlcore: driver version: R8.6_SP1
wlcore: PHY firmware version: Rev 220.127.116.11.233
wlcore: firmware booted (Rev 18.104.22.168.55)
Our problem is intermittent power on issues with the radio module. Around 30% of the time, the system will boot, and look completely normal, but wifi scans return nothing. There don't appear to be any errors in the logs. Doing a simple "rmmod wl18xx" and "modprobe wl18xx" will restore normal operation.
I started a thread on this on the TI e2e forum, and they are suggesting it might be a problem with the fast clock frequency detection:https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/wilink_wifi_bluetooth/f/307/p/558214/2043662#2043662
I tried changing the startup-delay-us for the wlan-en-regulator from 70000 to 250000, but I still see the issue.
Can someone from Variscite look at this?
