Trouble getting SPI driver up and running

Postby __BK__ » Mon Feb 01, 2016 10:16 pm

I have been having trouble getting the SPI driver up and running on my VAR-AM33 board. More specifically, I have been unable to get any /dev/spidevX.Y to appear.

I have followed the instructions on this page
http://variwiki.com/index.php?title=VAR-SOM-AM33_Yocto_Fido_R1_Build_Linux_out_of_tree
to get things up and running. No problems there. I then followed the instructions on
http://variwiki.com/index.php?title=VAR-SOM-AM33_SPI
to try to test the SPI, but I have had no luck getting a /dev/spidevX.Y device to appear in my device tree.

I have also config'd
Device Driver ---> SPI support ---> McSPI driver for OMAP
to be built-in.

Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious. Has anyone else run into something like this?

Hi
You need to enable Device Drivers -> SPI support -> <*> User mode SPI device driver support

Return to “Yocto”
